This dialog is used to create a new server entry or edit a existing one.

You must provide an alias name (this is the name displayed in the Enterprise Manager),

a host name (IP address or fully qualified domain name) and a database user name to use for the initial connection.

 

By default the password will not be stored and you will be prompted at each logon for it.  If you check off the Trusted

Connection option the password will be stored in the registry and you will NOT be prompted for it at each logon.

Be advised the password is stored in the registry unencrypted, so don't do this on a production machine.

 

You also have the option of setting up a SSH tunnel.
