Dependency Viewer (Postgresql Only)

Top  Previous  Next

You may right click on any object in a database tab and view it's dependencies by by selecting "Dependency Viewer"

The Dependency viewer is also embedded in the table and function editors.

No matter how it is viewed it will show dependent objects and objects that reference it.

There are several types of restrictions and they dictate on how a object can be dropped.

Auto: The object will be dropped automatically with the primary object.  This includes objects such as indexes, primary keys and sequences generated

by the serial type.

Normal: This means the object cannot be dropped until all objects that reference it are dropped.   A good example would be a user defined

composite type that is used by a function for it's setof return type;
