LA has the ability to check the AM Software Design web site for new version availability.
There are several user defined options that control this ability and they can be accessed and set from
the environment options dialog.
If set to manual you must initiate the check yourself from the main menus help section.
If set to at "every start" or "every X number of days" the process is started in a separate thread at application
start time.
The version check works via the HTTP protocol, so sever authentication options are included.
| 1. | None: provides no authentication |
| 2. | Basic: provides basic HTTP authentication.(Some hardware based firewalls use this type of authentication) |
| 3. | Proxy: provides authentication for use with proxy servers. |
If your copy of LA is found to be out of date you will see this dialog where you can download
the latest version and view the change history.
